Langebaan Transport Interchange
Langebaan’s urban development has an incredibly fragmented past. This project aims to integrate transport with commercial and social amenities to bring a pedestrian vibrancy back to the town centre. The transport hub primarily addresses the need for a formal taxi rank for the short and long distance taxis serving the town.
The facility can expand over time to accommodate other modes of public transport. Central to the design of the project is its capacity to serve as a catalyst for economic and social development through the creation of trading opportunities for micro, small, medium and large businesses. The public promenade becomes an active social spine connecting the main road to the taxi rank, where the community can gather.
